Using the recipes

The recipes on this site are free to cook, for yourself, for your family, for your friends and in your own business. We do not restrict what you do with food you have made.

What we do ask is that the text of a recipe - the writing, the method as written, the troubleshooting - is not republished elsewhere. Quote from it, link to it, cook from it, adapt it and write your own version. Do not copy the page.

Cooking safety

Cooking involves heat, sharp things, hot oil and raw meat. You are responsible for your own kitchen.

In particular:

• Follow the food-safety temperatures given in the recipes, measured with a probe at the thickest point. Chicken is 74 °C / 165 °F. This is not a preference.
• Deep-frying carries real risk. Never leave hot oil unattended, never put water near it, never fill a pan more than a third full, and never attempt to pressure-fry in a domestic pressure cooker, whatever you have read elsewhere.
• Check allergens yourself. Our ingredient lists are complete for the recipe as written, but substitutions, brands and cross-contamination in your own kitchen are outside what we can know.

Nutrition information

Nutrition figures are calculated from our own ingredient lists using standard composition data. They are estimates. They are not the restaurants' published figures, they will vary with the brands and quantities you actually use, and they are not medical or dietary advice. If you are managing a medical condition, work from your own weighed ingredients and your own clinician's guidance.

Menu prices

Menu prices held on this site are recorded from published menu boards on the date shown on each menu page. They change frequently, vary between outlets, and exclude delivery, service and app mark-ups. They are a reference for comparison, not a quotation, and no chain is bound by anything printed here.

Accuracy generally

We take a great deal of care and we will still get things wrong occasionally. The site is provided as it is, without warranty. If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from use of this site. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, because the law does not allow that and nor would we want it to.

We link out where something is worth reading. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for them.
